Physical Science, also known as physics, studies matter, motion, energy and force. Physics is important because it explains how the world around us operates. Physics has help to create and design many of our modern machines such as airplanes and rollercoasters.

There are many important concepts of physicals. Here is a list of what I think is important to know!

  • Motion- when an object changes positions from its starting point
  • Speed- rate which an object changes its position
  • Velocity- rate at which an object changes position
    • includes direction of motion
  • Acceleration- rate at which object change velocity
  • Mass- amount of matter in an object
  • Weight- a measure of the force of gravity on an object
  • Force- a push or pull on an object in order to change velocity
  • Work- result of a force moving an object
  • Energy- ability to do work
    • potential energy (stored)
    • Kinetic (motion)
  • Gravity- force of attraction between objects
  • Newton's Laws of motion
    • 1st- an object at rest remains at rest, an object in motion remains at rest but an object in motion remains at in motion unless stopped
    • 2nd-  the acceleration of an object depends on the mass of object and amount of force applied
    • 3rd-for every action for an equal and opposite reaction force

Here I've included a crash course video about motion. They have an entire crash course series about physics!
